Our acoustics experts develop, design, test and produce innovative sound package products for the entire vehicle - engine bay, passenger compartment, trunk, body-in-white and exterior - in order to offer customized solutions. As a systems supplier, we integrate and balance all related components and vehicle structures with regard to acoustic comfort, weight, cost and design. We work closely with our customers to meet their requirements and obtain the best overall performance of the vehicle.

We apply our in-depth know-how and experience to support our customers in:

• simulation-based sound package development
• testing-based sound package development

Pre-development

In the pre-development phase, we carry out global NVH benchmarking to support our customers in clear vehicle positioning in the market. Subsequently, we apply the overall target to the individual components in order to achieve the acoustic requirements for the entire vehicle. This process is performance, weight and cost driven and results in an innovative sound package concept for the customer.

Simulation and testing

In the development phase, we offer simulation-based sound package development to allow decisions to be made on proven data and to lower development and product costs significantly. The use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and our vast material database lead to the following benefits for our customers:

• potential problem areas are identified at a very early stage
• lead times can be shortened
• fewer prototypes are required
• cost effective solutions are achieved

In a next step, we test components, systems and vehicles to ensure that all targets meet the required specifications.

State of the art Acoustics Centers

These activities are carried out through a worldwide network of 10 state of the art Acoustic Centers and material testing laboratories. These locations are equipped with unique CAE simulation tools and Autoneum-developed measurement systems, many of which have become industry standards. A global team of experts provides our customers with dedicated acoustics engineering support through every project phase. We continually develop and improve our highly specialized know-how and methodologies to perfect vehicle acoustic performance.
