Theta-Fiber™
Key technology for engine bay with excellent acoustic and thermal properties
Theta-Fiber™ is a unique semi-structural felt material with excellent acoustic and thermal properties. The technology stands out by its high heat resistance, low weight, excellent acoustics and integrated thermal insulation. In addition, its good resistance to vibration loads makes it perfect for engine-mounted applications. Therefore, Theta-Fiber™ is a key technology to meet future requirements in terms of CO2 emissions and pass-by noise regulations.
The unique benefits:
- High temperature resistance of up to 200° C
- Less than 25% mechanical losses after 1000 hours of heat aging testing at 160°C
- Low surface area mass between 600 and 1000 g/m2 with integrated acoustic and thermal functions
In addition, the Theta-Fiber™ technology can be used for efficiently substituting flat solid plastic components such as engine top covers, saving up to 50% weight while achieving a better acoustic and thermal performance.
