Its aluminum heatshields, which are based on RIMIC technology, now provide also effective protection against high-frequency sounds by combining them with a sound absorber developed by Autoneum, too.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the automobile production, heatshields are primarily used to reflect heat, which is generated in areas such as the engine bay and the exhaust system. Autoneum\u2019s heatshield technology RIMIC also enables sound to be absorbed, thereby reducing<br \/>\nthe interior and exterior noise of vehicles. What is impressive about the shields made of aluminum is both their multifunctionality and their light weight. Furthermore, they are heat-resistant up to 500 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<p>With RIMIC, Autoneum has developed a special perforation of the aluminum, which absorbs vehicle noise effectively. Using in-house production processes, these perforations are applied specifically only at predefined areas to ensure optimal heat protection and durability. The acoustic performance is thus controlled by the number of perforations.<\/p>\n<p>Autoneum has further enhanced the already high acoustic performance provided by RIMIC with newly developed designs and optimized perforation. Furthermore,<br \/>\nhigh-frequency sounds can now also be absorbed when combining the aluminium heatshields with sound absorbers like Theta-Cell.
