This year again, the majority of contenders is equipped with lightweight components for acoustic and thermal management from Autoneum. The world\u2019s leading automobile industry awards will be presented at the New York Motor Show in the spring of 2020. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A total of 46 new vehicle models have passed the initial screening and are now contenders for trophies in the categories \u201cWorld Car of the Year\u201d, \u201cWorld Luxury Car\u201d, \u201cWorld Performance Car\u201d, \u201cWorld Urban Car\u201d and \u201cWorld Car Design of the Year\u201d, including five new fully-electric models alone. Whether it\u2019s a lightweight underbody, a noise-absorbing carpet system or a heat-reducing engine encapsulation \u2013 most of the eligible vehicles benefit from Autoneum\u2019s innovation leadership in thermal and acoustic management. Autoneum\u2019s expertise extends to new forms of mobility such as electric vehicles: Also thanks to numerous Autoneum components, Jaguar\u2019s fully-electric SUV \u201cI-PACE\u201d impressed the jurors for the World Car Awards 2019, which was the first model ever to be named \u201cWorld Car of the Year\u201d, \u201cWorld Car Design of the Year\u201d and \u201cWorld Green Car\u201d at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of today\u2019s eligibility announcement, Autoneum CEO Martin Hirzel said: \u201cOnce again, the contenders are testimony to our innovation leadership. A jury comprising of more than 80 international automotive journalists selects winners in five categories.
