Relive-1
Beautifully sustainable
Autoneum’s Relive-1 tufted carpet technology exemplifies an exceptional environmental performance and superior in-vehicle comfort. Made from recycled PET bottles, Relive-1 reduces plastic waste and conserves natural resources. Furthermore, Autoneum’s Alternative Backcoating (ABC) process replaces latex with thermoplastic adhesives, reducing water and energy consumption during production, lowering CO₂ emissions and enabling zero-waste manufacturing and recyclability at the product’s end-of-life. Relive-1 also offers:
- Enhanced durability and maintenance ease due to the vertical alignment of the polyester filaments and inherent water repellency.
- Robust abrasion resistance compared to standard carpets.
- Effortless removal of small particles and liquids for a cleaner and more comfortable driving environment.
Relive-1 combines sustainability, durability and aesthetic appeal, enhancing both environmental responsibility and user experience in modern vehicles.
Di-Light
Enhancing driving comfort
Di-Light is an advanced carpet surface designed to elevate the interior experience in compact and mid-sized vehicles. This next-generation non-woven carpet technology combines superior aesthetics, high functionality and a strong commitment to sustainability.
- It offers visual appeal with a uniform surface appearance that maintains its look even in complex, contoured areas of the vehicle. Its loftier pile provides a more premium, tactile feel, significantly enhancing the perceived quality of the vehicle interior.
- The surface is durable and resilient, outperforming conventional non-woven carpets.
- Engineered for longevity, it resists abrasion and wear in high-traffic zones, ensuring the carpet retains its quality and comfort over time.
Di-Light also sets new standards in sustainability. Made from up to 97% recycled PET fibers, it is fully recyclable at the end of its lifecycle, with production cut-offs reclaimable for reuse –supporting the circular economy. Additionally, its 20% weight reduction compared to standard carpets helps reduce vehicle weight, contributing to lower fuel consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions.
Hybrid-Acoustics ECO+
Sustainable noise reduction for powertrains
Autoneum’s Hybrid-Acoustics technology is engineered to control noise where it matters most – in the passenger compartment – using a single material system that handles both insulation and absorption. By adjusting the thickness and density of each area within a component, the technology can be configured to meet specific acoustic needs, such as stronger insulation in the lower dash and more absorption at the upper part. This localized acoustic control is achieved without additional layers or complex material stacks.
The material is a monomaterial cotton-based structure containing up to 70% recycled content, providing a porous, lightweight alternative to traditional multilayer systems. It is easy to handle and install and is up to 50% lighter than conventional heavy foam solutions, contributing to overall vehicle weight reduction.
Hybrid-Acoustics simplifies the bill of materials while meeting demanding NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) targets, offering a practical and sustainable option for modern vehicle design.
Prime-Light
Flexibility in design
Prime-Light builds on Autoneum’s Ultra-Light technology to deliver a reliable acoustic performance with significantly reduced weight. Its flexible design fits complex vehicle shapes, supporting efficient integration into modern production processes.
By reducing the component weight by up to 30%, Prime-Light lowers the overall vehicle mass, boosting fuel efficiency or extending the electric vehicle range. Depending on the application, it can include up to 50% recycled content. Autoneum optimizes each component’s density and thickness early in the development phase to ensure maximum acoustic insulation with minimal material use.
Ultra-Light
The Lightweight “Classic”
The Ultra-Light technology facilitates enhanced acoustic comfort in cars while simultaneously reducing the vehicle weight and is today one of the classic products in Autoneum’s noise protection portfolio.
Prior to the market launch of Ultra-Light in 1998, vehicle manufacturers largely used insulations made of heavy layer foam to curb unwanted noise. Autoneum introduced a pioneering paradigm shift in its approach to reducing vehicle noise by focusing on the absorption of noise instead of the insulation method that had previously been practiced. While sound-insulating components block noise and prevent it from seeping through from the engine bay to the passenger compartment, sound-absorbing components “swallow” noise.
The benefits of this fundamental paradigm shift are obvious: products for the absorption of noise like inner dashes and floor insulators are made of lightweight materials such as fibers. Compared with heavier mineral oil-based insulations they enable weight savings of up to 50 percent to be made. Moreover, products based on Ultra-Light are easy to recycle.
IFP-R2
Sets sustainable standards for felt technologies
The fully-automated IFP-R2 production systems are based on the Rotating Injection Fiber process which is an innovative, patented manufacturing process from Autoneum used for manufacturing tailor-made felt blanks for inner dashes and floor insulators in vehicles. These blanks with locally adjusted area weight are then molded into the shape required for the final product.
The advanced process leads to better acoustics, lower weight and the possibility to locally increase the compressional stiffness of carpet systems for improved quality perception. Autoneum also achieves a higher environmental performance of the production process, as up to 80% of recycled fibers are possible. Reusing this material contributes to a better carbon footprint and thus to the conservation of natural resources.
Zeta-Light
Innovative damping principle for superior acoustic comfort
Zeta-Light offers a novel damping principle that effectively reduces low-frequency structure-borne vibrations. Its damping performance remains consistent across temperature variations and provides excellent low-frequency noise control. By extending the frequency range of lightweight technologies, Zeta-Light enhances NVH components and simplifies vehicle assembly and logistics. The pods can easily be peeled off at end-of-life, supporting monomaterial concepts and reducing the environmental impact compared to traditional heavy layers.
ABC (Alternative Back Coating)
Sustainable adhesive technology
Autoneum's ABC (Alternative Back Coating) process uses a roller-coating technique to apply a thermoplastic (hot-melt) adhesive to the back of the carpet face layer. This method effectively secures fibers in needlepunch carpets or filaments in tufted carpets, ensuring durability and stability. By eliminating the need for traditional backing materials, ABC reduces the environmental impact of carpet production, supporting a more sustainable approach without compromising performance or quality.
Interior trim
In view of the advancing electrification of mobility, noise reduction in the trunk area of vehicles is becoming increasingly important. Thanks to their high proportion of recycled material, Autoneum’s interior trim components are particularly sustainable. In addition, these multifunctional components are lightweight, extremely durable and have an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
