SAMEA (South America, Middle East, and Africa) – Women walking for women in South Africa

To celebrate Women’s Month (August) in South Africa, twenty female colleagues from Autoneum’s joint venture plant in Rosslyn took part in the 2023 SPAR Women’s Challenge. The 10km and 5km races are part of the SPAR Women’s Grand Prix 10km Series, a prestigious annual road running competition that attracts the country’s top professional female athletes as well as thousands of recreational runners; the event also serves as a fundraising platform for various local charities. This year’s entry fees were donated to four organizations supporting those in need, children with cancer as well as people with mental illnesses. The Rosslyn team did Autoneum proud with all runners completing the race. In addition to the physical exercise as well as the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie instilled by the run, the positive impact of this event on the local community will be felt far beyond Women’s Month.

Asia – Raising awareness of road safety in India

At the beginning of the year, Autoneum’s Indian plant in Behror (Rajasthan) organized a workshop for the local population as part of the National Road Safety Week. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of road accidents and, in particular, on how to prevent them. In addition to distributing high-visibility reflector tapes to Autoneum employees traveling to work by bike, the team – supported by a representative of the Behror traffic police – took to the streets to raise awareness of the important issue of road safety in the local community by handing out leaflets, roses and chocolates.

Europe – Getting muddy for charity

Who says doing good can’t be fun? Autoneum employees in Heckmondwike, UK, were certainly not afraid to get their hands – and various other body parts – dirty for a good cause in 2023. Supporting the local charity Cash for Kids, twelve fearless Autoneum employees signed up for the 10k Tough Mudder in Skipton, conquering a total of 23 obstacles with appealing names such as Block Ness monster, cliffhanger, cage crawl or electroshock therapy … Braving mud, water, ice and whatever else thrown in their way, our colleagues raised a huge £846 for children and young people in North and West Yorkshire.

North America – An afternoon of reading for elderly people in Mexico

We all know how busy life can be – and how easy it is to lose sight of the bigger picture in the face of our own everyday worries. However, the employees at Autoneum’s Canadian plant in Tillsonburg always find the time to support the less fortunate in their community. In 2023, the plant once again hosted its annual fundraising barbecue in support of the local inpatient hospice Sakura House. The food was prepared by employee volunteers and sold to colleagues on all shifts. All proceeds went to the local palliative care facility, which offers free professional medical care around the clock to resident patients. On behalf of the Autoneum employees in Tillsonburg, Sakura House received a remarkable donation of over $900 Canadian dollars.
