Today, the 2019 World Car Awards kicked off with the announcement of the nominated vehicle models at the Paris Motor Show. Once again, the majority of these cars is equipped with Autoneum’s lightweight products for acoustics and thermal management, which confirms the Company’s consistent focus on innovation. Autoneum is Presenting Partner of the world’s leading automotive industry award for the fifth consecutive year.
Accompanied by Autoneum as Presenting Partner, the “Road to World Car 2019” began its journey today with the announcement of the nominated models in the six “World Car” categories at the Paris Motor Show. Two-thirds of the eligible vehicle models are equipped with multifunctional components from Autoneum – an impressive demonstration of the Company’s technology leadership. This also applies to the Volvo XC60, the “2018 World Car of the Year”, which is fitted with various noise and heat-reducing components such as textile underbody systems made of Ultra-Silent, inner dashes and carpet systems. At the same time, all these components also meet the customer’s high requirements for sustainable products: Not only are they composed of a high share of recycled fibers, but thanks to their lightweight construction, they also contribute to a lower vehicle weight and thus to reduced fuel consumption and vehicle emissions.
Autoneum and the organizers of the World Car Awards are united by the ambition to drive innovation and operational excellence in the automotive industry in order to shape the mobility of tomorrow. The World Car Awards, which have been presented annually since 2004, are the leading automotive industry prize with the highest level of recognition worldwide. An international jury consisting of more than 80 leading industry journalists hands out awards in the following categories: “World Car of the Year”, “World Luxury Car”, “World Performance Car”, “World Car Design of the Year”, “World Green Car“ and “World Urban Car”. The winners of the 2019 World Car Awards will be announced in April next year at the New York International Auto Show.
